Hedging Calculator
Use this when you already hold a live ticket or future and want to calculate the opposite-side stake needed to lock in a fixed return.
Formula
Hedge stake = (original stake * original odds) / current opposite odds
When to Hedge
Hedging makes most sense when the original position has moved enough that the new opposite-side price still leaves room for profit after you protect the ticket.
When Not to Hedge
If the new price is too short, a hedge can burn value and only buy emotional comfort. Compare the locked-in profit to the EV you are giving away.
Arbitrage Calculator
Compare a pure pregame arbitrage to a later hedge built from line movement.
